FEATURED: Welch Tile
When the American Subcontractors Association of Michigan reached out to us here at Welch Tile, letting us know that they wanted to feature us in one of their “member highlight” posts on social media, we were thrilled to collaborate with them on such an honor! We worked closely with them to figure out what projects to feature, as we have so many to be proud of. After careful consideration, we chose a few of our favorites and they took it from there.
Here is the full post featuring Welch Tile.
We’re so excited to feature one of our talented member companies:
Welch Tile has built its reputation on tackling complicated, custom, and expansive projects. For more than 35 years, they’ve been the go-to experts for commercial and high-end residential tile work.
See Welch’s beautiful work at:
• MDRD Restaurant
• Holland Aquatic Center
• DoubleTree Hotel, Battle Creek
• MSU Research Center
“When a tricky high-end tile project comes up, general contractors reach out to us. We’ve been told they want us on their project,” says Megan Garvey, Director of HR and Marketing.
A perfect example: the feature wall at MDRD restaurant in downtown Grand Rapids. The diamond-shaped panels were imported from Italy. Too large for the elevators, they had to be lifted in by crane. Welch staged, racked, and installed them flawlessly.
That expertise is rooted in training and growth. Welch runs its own apprenticeship program and even helped the National Tile Contractors Association design a nationwide curriculum. Many of their installers and foremen have decades of experience, guiding new tradespeople and taking pride in craftsmanship.
They also innovate. For the DoubleTree Hotel in Battle Creek, Welch built 240 prefab tiled showers in their production facility in Kent City and installed them in Battle Creek in a fraction of the time of a traditional install. Welch covers other applications, too, including terrazzo, epoxy, and custom residential tile.
Welch is one of the few NTCA 5-Star Accredited Contractors in the Midwest — and the only one in Michigan, first earning their accreditation in 2008. That recognition reflects what they’re known for: demonstrating a commitment to exceptional craftsmanship, adherence to industry best practices, talented people, and involvement in continuous education.
Thank you, Welch Tile and Dan Welch, for being a part of the ASAM family!
Thank you again to the American Subcontractors Association of Michigan for featuring Welch Tile!
