Dan,

I love the design installation showcase! It brings to life what's possible with tile and also makes you think about how the products and installation make possible a space that's not only beautiful but also useful.

Well done!

Best,
CB

The design showcase was much more enjoyable this year for the Welch Tile staff. We are fortunate to be one of the selected contractors showing the industry how their products are installed in a real world setting. I want to personally thank everyone involved. We really appreciate Coverings, NTCA, TEC, Crossville, USG, Noble Company, Cox Tile, Laura Yorba & Freeman for a job well done. We look forward to seeing how the design showcase can give an awareness to all about how quality tile instillation and thoughtful design create a beautiful space that will last a lifetime.

Aaron and Adam learned a lot by working along side the other tile installers and contributed their own expertise to the team. They both felt that the experience was worth while and are looking forward possibly being able to do it again.

This project is an example of what can happen when you integrate true tile professional installation companies with quality design professionals. This was the second year we have coordinated the Design Showcase. Over 20,000 attendees voted this program at Coverings in 2010 and 2011 as on of the most effective and innovative ways to promote the proper specification and installation of ceramic tile and natural stone.

The Installation Design Showcase at the Coverings exposition was an opportunity to see the true art that emerges when great design, superior products and quality installation come together.

I was impressed with the way that the designers and installers worked together -- and how all of the NTCA 5-Star installers pitched-in to help each other get the work done on some intricate plans in a compressed time frame.

The NTCA has posted all of the videos from Coverings online - you can find them at http://www.youtube.com/thentca - it's really fun to watch the vignettes come together!

Great show - a lot of hard work - congratulations to all involved!

We had a horrible experience with a handyman. He showed us a business card that said he was licensed. We believed him and used him for several jobs in our house. Our most recent job with him turned out terribly. He tiled our master bath, shower, and tub. Everything about it is wrong. He didn't know what he was doing, even though his website says he does tile jobs. We spent approximately $5000.00 on this job, and now we can't even use the bathroom. The shower won't hold water, tiles are uneven, sticking out, grout is cracking, grout is missing, and the guy didn't even use thin set mortar to hold down the tiles. He charged us for supplies he didn't even use such as a new boot for the shower. How do I know this? We hired Welch Tile to fix the problem. They had to tear everything out and start over. As they have torn everything out they have discovered even more problems than we thought we had. I have learned a huge lesson. Use a licensed, experienced company to do your job. Ask to see the license, and find out what the person is licensed in. We thought we were saving money using the handyman. I am hoping to save at least one family from going through this nightmare.

It was a great experience working with Welch! The workers were professional and did all the installation really well. There was no clean up, they cleaned everything as they went! What a great job, looking forward to future updates with Welch! We love our new kitchen!
