We are pleased to present our key personnel biographies.  We take pride in encouraging professional expression by affording our key personnel the opportunity to expand their knowledge of  areas of special interest and continued growth through education and industry associations and certification.
As these key people host our website blog, you can be assured they express the best in professional dialog, and a cutting edge understanding of their areas of special interest.  Our management team, department leads, and our CTI certified mechanics contribute to our blog hosting; here are a few of our 60 plus biographies.


Dan Welch

Dan W:   President and Chief Operating Officer of Welch Tile, and the only place he has ever worked.  Dan started where all of Richard's sons did, at the bottom, at least jobsite wise.  He has worked in every area of the company displays a vision for the future of the company and the industry.  Dan serves as 2nd Vice President of the NTCA, chairs the Training and Education Committee, legal committee for ABC serves on the ANSI standards committee, and is a board member of the CTEF.  Dan believes in affiliation participation, and he is proud of the affiliations displayed on our website.  A father of six, Dan, his wife and family can be found most weekends on the backwaters of Croton Dam, at his Croton Pond retreat, where personal and business guests are always welcome.


Brady Kennedy

Brady K:  As lead project manager for our residential market, Brady's career history is the perfect fit for his position.  Starting as an independent residential tile installer, he sought out employment with a traditional, large, long standing contractor where he could validate his skills and gain industry education.  With 22 years of experience and a passion for upscale tile and stone projects in the residential market, Brady is also a CTEF-CTI certified installer.   His critical eye for design and install perfection, and his ability to council residential owners, architects, designers and builders, to bring together the owners dreams gives Brady great satisfaction. Brady also serves as our lead liaison with the (MIA) Marble Institute of America, providing cross training on natural stone for our continuing education program.



Rick W, JR: Following in the family tradition, after High School, Rick JR. joined the company and began his college studies in construction and architecture.  He quickly identified that the hands on side of the industry is where his interest were.  Rick embarked on the company apprentice program, and was promoted to project supervisor after 5 years.  Rick likes diversification, and has overseen everything from class "A" casino projects to major medical projects.  With 11 years of field expertise, he joined our estimation team in 2009.  Rick holds the CTEF-CTI certified installer certificate and has OSHA 60 Hour Certification.



Nancy C:  As a graduate of the Kendall School of Design, Nancy has owned her own specialty business a design consultant with us of almost 12 years, manages our Kent City showroom.  Her knowledge of high end residential design and commercial design in hard surfaces is her greatest asset.  Her passion is seeking out new and viable materials. If it is new and green, Nancy probably knows about it.  Nancy is a member of the NKBA and USGBC, keeping up with our ever changing industry.



Jeff V: As our Director of Estimating, Jeff's ground floor up, 33 years of experience have served him well.  Having been truck driver, warehouseman, helper/finisher, tile installer, job supervisor, estimator and Vice President of Field Operations, nothing misses Jeff's estimating eye.  Jeff mentors our estimators, coordinates project and management meetings, and serves on our core management team.  If you have never meet Jeff, he is easy to recognize, just show up very, very early in the morning, go into the only office with a light on, that will be Jeff.


Bob Wind

Bob W:  Drawing from his 3 years as apprentice and 12 years as a hard surface, terrazzo and soft goods mechanic, Bob is currently Lead Project Manager and Branch Manager for our Lake Michigan lakeshore operations.  Bob also holds CTEF-CTI installer certification.  Bob is well versed in design development and negotiated commercial finishes.  He may not be available on a particular October morning, as Bob observes the long standing traditional Michigan Holiday known as "Deer Hunting Opening Day."
